County-wide Main Street program is one-of-a-kind
Pontotoc County Main Street Association has been designated an accredited National Main Street Program for meeting the commercial district revitalization performance standards set by the National Trust Main Street Center.
Pontotoc County Main Street Association is beginning our fourth year in the organization on the state level. We have taken small steps in developing our program. PCMSA has partnered with several established groups. Main Street whether it's in Ecru, Sherman, or Pontotoc is where people like to gather and activities abound.
Our four committees of Promotion, Design, Economic Restructuring, and Organization have been busy in carrying out the wishes of the board in providing a viable program for the county. Each quarter we try to have activities on the calendar to provide growth for our citizens and merchants alike.
Examples of Activities include:
- Christmas Parades - Sherman, Ecru, Pontotoc, Thaxton, Toccopola and Algoma
- Lion's Club 5K Fun Run
- Fourth of July Celebration
- Movie in the Park
- County-wide Pep Rally
- Bodock Association - Bodock Festival
- Autumn Walking Trail
- "Let's Go Walking Downtown MS"
- Veterans Day Parade
